Hi Devoted Ink Fans!
We have great news. We have just brought on Rob Hendrickson as Devoted Ink’s newest artist.
We know all of you have been very patient, waiting to get in the books and we thank you for that. Just know that we have been understaffed with artists because we are not compromising with the level of talent that we (and you) should be expecting out of our shop. We also are making sure that the staff we bring on loves the Lord and can always be held accountable to His word. And with those two requests its like a needle in a haystack out there. So lets welcome this needle!
He has a ton of experience and is very well rounded, from black and grey realism to color bio (see pictures below if you dont know what “bio” is). Him and his family just moved into town so come say hi and book an appointment before its too late this summer!
There was a Tattoo Convention called the Central City Tattoo and Arts show in Santa Maria this Cinco de Mayo weekend and Devoted Ink chose this one to be their debut. It was full of good clean tattooing. Matt tattooed the Girl MC of the event and Derek tattooed one of the staff members manning the front table. They got to do a wide range of styles while they were there, from new school japanese, to hard traditional. They were selling a ton of merchandise from hats, to shirts, to stickers. Lyle Tuttle even snagged a few stickers and said he was putting one in his museum and taking the other to France with him. To wrap it up it was a ton of work getting everything in the U-Haul and driving 5 hrs there and back but it was well worth it. Matt and Derek were accompanied by Taryn and Drew McElvany as booth helpers. (check out the tattoos they did below)
Devoted Ink will be releasing a new shirt on May 1st! Available for in store pickup or online. For an online order please E-mail us at Devotedink@gmail.com
Devoted Ink doesn’t normally make appearances to tattoo conventions or expos but this Cinco de Mayo weekend we will all be heading up to the Central City Tattoo-N-Arts expo. Why you might ask? Well lets just say we know the awesome people putting this on and have been assured there will be nothing but good old fashion tattooing going on. No women walking around with “pasties” over their nipples, no huge posters and banners promoting porn, and no dudes with booths selling bongs and weed. So if you and some friends want to make the drive and hang with us your welcome. We will have an awesome booth location and will be tattooing all three days.
17 dollar day pass and 30 dollars for all weekend access.
Kids under 10 are free.

Check this one out too!
We get many people walking in the shop on a daily basis and some people ask “I’m just pricing out a tattoo” (And its ok if you have done this, we’re just here to put it into perspective). Is it unfair that at this moment we know we aren’t going to win your business? (yes and no) And why is that? Lets explain. Now this tattoo (to the right) is one of Matt Laster’s in progress tattoos, but lets just use it for example. This gentleman came into the shop from positive past experiences and decided he wanted us to do a large underwater scene. Why did he choose us? Because he knows at our shop that we are in the business to be the best artists we can be, and if that means we aren’t the fastest, or the cheapest, then were just going to have to be ok with that, and we hope you are too. We like comparing tattoos and TV’s. Why? Because people don’t like spending good money. And we understand that, for the most part. But why is it understandable to purchase a $600 TV when it is going to be in the trash can in 5 years and not ok when we quote you $600 for 6 hrs of custom professional body art? (That by the way you will enjoy for a lifetime) Your thoughts?
We hope this was informative and encourages our followers to make good life choices!
-The Devoted Ink Team
When you come into our tattoo studio you might notice we aren’t always too excited when you bring in a piece of flash you printed off of johnnytattoodesigns.com. There is a reason, and its not because we like being difficult. Its that we (professional tattoo artists) sometimes value your body more than even yourselves. We understand that you are one of a kind. Despite the billions of people that are walking the earth, God created you completely custom. We think that this is kinda cool and in respect to God’s awesome creation we think you deserve better than just a “dime a dozen” bumper sticker type of tattoo. Here at Devoted Ink we do not just hire tattooers but we hire artists that can also tattoo. This is so when you come in and say “I have this idea but just haven’t seen it yet” we get to let the creative juices flow. Now timeless is just meaning when everyone sees your tattoo, we hope they cant pick out the year you got it because that’s when it was the hottest thing on Pintrest.
